The Story Behind the Storyteller
Some of the most meaningful moments on a wedding day aren’t the ones on the timeline—they’re the quiet, unscripted in-betweens. For Karina Alvarez, founder of Digitizd Creative Co., those are exactly the moments she’s drawn to. “I’ve been working in social media and content creation for over 6 years,” she shares, “creating content for businesses and helping brands tell their story.”
However, when she began capturing weddings and events, something shifted. “There’s something about weddings that goes beyond just creating content—it’s capturing emotional moments in real time. What really drew me in was the ability to document the in-between moments. The ones couples don’t plan for, but end up meaning the most.”
Falling in Love with Weddings
While Karina has experience across many types of events, weddings hold a special place in her heart. “Weddings will always be my favorite,” she says. “There’s literally nothing like the energy of a wedding day—it’s emotional, fast-paced, and full of so many moments happening all at once.” Whether she’s working directly with a couple or collaborating with fellow vendors, she approaches each event with the same intention: to preserve not just what happened, but how it felt.

A Full-Circle Beginning
Karina’s journey into wedding content creation started in a deeply personal way—capturing her best friend’s wedding. “At the time, I wasn’t even officially offering wedding content creation yet. Being so close to her, I knew her story, her relationship, and everything that led up to that day.” That perspective made the experience unforgettable. “It wasn’t just about creating content—it was about documenting something so personal and meaningful.”
It was also a turning point. “That experience was when I realized I wanted to do this for other couples,” she shares. “There’s something really special about getting to learn a couple’s story and then capture their love in a way they can relive.”
Even more meaningful, her friend was the one who encouraged her to pursue it professionally—something Karina still reflects on with gratitude.
Taking the Leap
One of Karina’s proudest moments came from a decision many entrepreneurs know well: stepping away from stability to pursue something bigger. “A major career highlight for me was deciding to leave my 9–5 job and pursue my business full time. It was a big step and definitely a leap of faith.” That leap gave her the space to fully grow into her creativity and her business. “Being able to turn something I’ve built into a full-time career—and to do work that I genuinely love—is something I’m really proud of.”
When Plans Change… and Magic Happens Anyway
In the world of events, flexibility is everything—and Karina has learned how to adapt while keeping the experience seamless. She recalls one bridal shower that was planned outdoors, only for the weather to change at the last minute. “I stepped in to help however I could, assisting with moving details inside,” she explains. “At the same time, I adjusted how I was capturing the event and worked around the indoor setting so the moments still felt seamless.”
Her perspective on moments like these is simple, but powerful: “Usually, the unexpected changes become part of what makes the event more memorable.”
More Than a Creative
Karina’s creativity extends far beyond weddings. She’s also been running her own social media marketing agency for over five years—something that laid the foundation for her storytelling skills. “I’ve always been very detail-oriented and creative. I love anything that allows me to bring ideas to life—whether that’s content creation, design, crafting, or planning.”
And right now, she’s experiencing weddings from an entirely new perspective: her own.
“I’m currently planning my own wedding for December 2026,” she says. “It’s given me a completely new perspective on the experience from a bride’s point of view.” That perspective has deepened the way she shows up for her clients. “It’s made me even more intentional about the moments I capture and the experience I create.”
The Moments That Stay With You
Ask any wedding professional, and they’ll tell you—it’s the unexpected, heartfelt moments that stay with you the longest. For Karina, one stands out from early in her career. “Right before the reception started, the bride pulled me aside and told me how much it meant to her that she added me as part of her day last minute,” she recalls. “She said that throughout the entire day, she felt like she could rely on me—whether it was cracking a joke to help her calm down or even fixing her hair. She told me she couldn’t imagine her day without me. It was such a genuine, unexpected moment, and it has always stayed with me.”
Inspired by Storytelling
Karina draws inspiration from strong, multifaceted women like Lauryn Bosstick. “She’s built an incredible business while also showing up fully as a mom and a wife,” Karina shares. “She’s confident, driven, and unapologetic in what she’s building—and that’s something I strive for.”
She’s also inspired by visual storytelling in film, especially La La Land. “I’ve always loved the way it tells a story through the visuals and emotion. It’s the kind of storytelling that really inspires me—and something I try to bring into my work.”
Creating Something You Can Feel
At its heart, Digitizd Creative Co. is about more than content creation. It’s about emotion, story, and connection. It’s about capturing the fleeting, meaningful moments that might otherwise go unnoticed, and turning them into something lasting. Because long after the day is over, those are the moments couples return to. The ones they didn’t plan for, but end up meaning the most.
