A Passion for Meaningful Experiences

When it comes to creating unforgettable wedding experiences, great food is essential! That passion for flavor and excellence is exactly what drives Her Catering Services and its founder, Jansy Delgado.

For Jansy, the journey into the wedding and event industry began naturally. “What started as a love for cooking and hosting quickly turned into a business, as I realized how much I enjoyed bringing people together and being part of their most special moments,” she shared. Weddings, in particular, captured her heart because of the emotion and significance behind every celebration. “I was especially drawn to weddings because they are full of emotion, detail, and unforgettable memories—and I love being able to contribute to that through both catering and coordination.”

A Wedding That Stands Out

One wedding in particular stands out as a defining moment in her career. Her team was tasked with providing both catering and coordination services for a couple who wanted to blend elegance and cultural flavors that reflected their personalities. “We were able to design a beautiful experience that reflected their vision perfectly,” Jansy explained. “Seeing everything come together—from the food presentation to the smooth flow of the event—and watching the couple truly enjoy their day without stress was incredibly rewarding. Moments like that remind me why I love what I do.

These moments have helped shape Her Catering Services into the trusted brand it is today. One of Jansy’s proudest accomplishments was building a company known for “elegance, quality, and reliability.” For her, success goes beyond serving exceptional meals. “Our work goes far beyond food; we create experiences and memories that last a lifetime,” she said.

Handling Challenges with Grace

Of course, anyone in the event industry knows that weddings do not always go exactly as planned. Jansy believes professionalism is measured in how those moments are handled behind the scenes. She recalled a time when a wedding timeline suddenly shifted because of delays from another vendor. Rather than letting stress impact the client experience, her team quickly adapted.

“I adjusted our service flow, coordinated with the team, and ensured the food was served fresh and on time without the guests noticing any disruption,” she explained. “My priority is always to protect the client’s experience and handle challenges behind the scenes with professionalism and efficiency.”

Creativity, Growth, and a Love of Garlic

Outside of weddings, Jansy is constantly inspired by creativity, design, and finding ways to elevate the experiences she creates for clients. She enjoys experimenting with flavors, exploring new recipes, and staying inspired by trends in both food and event styling. Her long-term goal is to continue growing Her Catering Services into a luxury catering and event brand known not only for incredible cuisine, but also for outstanding service and attention to detail.

There is one ingredient she admits has a permanent place in her kitchen. “A little-known fact about me is that I truly love garlic,” she shared. “I incorporate it into many of my dishes to enhance flavor and bring warmth to every meal.”

Creating Lasting Memories

Some of Jansy’s most meaningful memories come from witnessing the emotional impact of the work she does. One moment she will never forget was watching a bride walk into her reception and become overwhelmed with happiness as she saw everything come together exactly as she had envisioned.

“Moments like that stay with me because they remind me that what we do is not just about food or logistics—it’s about creating unforgettable emotions and memories that last a lifetime.”

Inspiration and Advice for Couples

Jansy also draws inspiration from strong female entrepreneurs and from the couples she works with every day. “Every couple has a unique story, and being trusted to bring their vision to life inspires me to always give my best,” she said. She believes the most memorable weddings are the ones rooted in authenticity and genuine emotion.

“I always suggest focusing on what feels authentic to them, because those are the moments they’ll remember forever.”

With a dedication to elegance, heartfelt service, and unforgettable experiences, Jansy Delgado and Her Catering Services continue to leave a lasting impression on South Florida couples one beautiful celebration at a time.

The Story Behind the Storyteller

Some of the most meaningful moments on a wedding day aren’t the ones on the timeline—they’re the quiet, unscripted in-betweens. For Karina Alvarez, founder of Digitizd Creative Co., those are exactly the moments she’s drawn to. “I’ve been working in social media and content creation for over 6 years,” she shares, “creating content for businesses and helping brands tell their story.”

However, when she began capturing weddings and events, something shifted. “There’s something about weddings that goes beyond just creating content—it’s capturing emotional moments in real time. What really drew me in was the ability to document the in-between moments. The ones couples don’t plan for, but end up meaning the most.”

Falling in Love with Weddings

While Karina has experience across many types of events, weddings hold a special place in her heart. “Weddings will always be my favorite,” she says. “There’s literally nothing like the energy of a wedding day—it’s emotional, fast-paced, and full of so many moments happening all at once.” Whether she’s working directly with a couple or collaborating with fellow vendors, she approaches each event with the same intention: to preserve not just what happened, but how it felt.

A Full-Circle Beginning

Karina’s journey into wedding content creation started in a deeply personal way—capturing her best friend’s wedding. “At the time, I wasn’t even officially offering wedding content creation yet. Being so close to her, I knew her story, her relationship, and everything that led up to that day.” That perspective made the experience unforgettable. “It wasn’t just about creating content—it was about documenting something so personal and meaningful.”

It was also a turning point. “That experience was when I realized I wanted to do this for other couples,” she shares. “There’s something really special about getting to learn a couple’s story and then capture their love in a way they can relive.”

Even more meaningful, her friend was the one who encouraged her to pursue it professionally—something Karina still reflects on with gratitude.

Taking the Leap

One of Karina’s proudest moments came from a decision many entrepreneurs know well: stepping away from stability to pursue something bigger. “A major career highlight for me was deciding to leave my 9–5 job and pursue my business full time. It was a big step and definitely a leap of faith.” That leap gave her the space to fully grow into her creativity and her business. “Being able to turn something I’ve built into a full-time career—and to do work that I genuinely love—is something I’m really proud of.”

When Plans Change… and Magic Happens Anyway

In the world of events, flexibility is everything—and Karina has learned how to adapt while keeping the experience seamless. She recalls one bridal shower that was planned outdoors, only for the weather to change at the last minute. “I stepped in to help however I could, assisting with moving details inside,” she explains. “At the same time, I adjusted how I was capturing the event and worked around the indoor setting so the moments still felt seamless.”

Her perspective on moments like these is simple, but powerful: “Usually, the unexpected changes become part of what makes the event more memorable.”

More Than a Creative

Karina’s creativity extends far beyond weddings. She’s also been running her own social media marketing agency for over five years—something that laid the foundation for her storytelling skills. “I’ve always been very detail-oriented and creative. I love anything that allows me to bring ideas to life—whether that’s content creation, design, crafting, or planning.”

And right now, she’s experiencing weddings from an entirely new perspective: her own.

“I’m currently planning my own wedding for December 2026,” she says. “It’s given me a completely new perspective on the experience from a bride’s point of view.” That perspective has deepened the way she shows up for her clients. “It’s made me even more intentional about the moments I capture and the experience I create.”

The Moments That Stay With You

Ask any wedding professional, and they’ll tell you—it’s the unexpected, heartfelt moments that stay with you the longest. For Karina, one stands out from early in her career. “Right before the reception started, the bride pulled me aside and told me how much it meant to her that she added me as part of her day last minute,” she recalls. “She said that throughout the entire day, she felt like she could rely on me—whether it was cracking a joke to help her calm down or even fixing her hair. She told me she couldn’t imagine her day without me. It was such a genuine, unexpected moment, and it has always stayed with me.”

Inspired by Storytelling

Karina draws inspiration from strong, multifaceted women like Lauryn Bosstick. “She’s built an incredible business while also showing up fully as a mom and a wife,” Karina shares. “She’s confident, driven, and unapologetic in what she’s building—and that’s something I strive for.”

She’s also inspired by visual storytelling in film, especially La La Land. “I’ve always loved the way it tells a story through the visuals and emotion. It’s the kind of storytelling that really inspires me—and something I try to bring into my work.”

Creating Something You Can Feel

At its heart, Digitizd Creative Co. is about more than content creation. It’s about emotion, story, and connection. It’s about capturing the fleeting, meaningful moments that might otherwise go unnoticed, and turning them into something lasting. Because long after the day is over, those are the moments couples return to. The ones they didn’t plan for, but end up meaning the most.

From Childhood Dreams to Event Magic

Glen MacArthur, owner of Rays of Light, discovered his love for lighting at the age of 13, in a bedroom transformed into a miniature drive-in movie theater. Using Matchbox cars, toy trucks, and even Star Wars figures, he staged concerts and shows with makeshift stages, floodlights, and his first DIY lightboard built alongside his father. “That little project grew and evolved with me over the next few years,” Glen recalls. “The rest is history.”

A Passion Turns Professional

While Glen always enjoyed lighting for dance floors at other DJs’ events, his true spark came in 2001 when his wife gifted him a single, large moving light. Inspired, he quickly expanded his collection, adding four more moving lights and numerous up-lights, and started booking jobs regularly. By 2002, he had incorporated his business, officially launching Rays of Light and bringing his growing vision to life. This foundation set the stage for the events that would define his career: celebrations filled with energy, engagement, and unforgettable moments.

The Events That Shine Brightest

For Glen, the most memorable events are those where guests are fully engaged - dancing, celebrating, and creating memories. Weddings and mitzvahs top his list for that reason. A standout event was a New Year’s Eve celebration at Gulfstream Park between 2017 and 2019, where Glen set up a 40-foot-high disco ball over a fountain. At midnight, with his sons controlling lights and strobe effects, the crowd was electrified under a canopy of three-foot-wide LED stars. “Even though my boys are no longer interested in lighting, that moment sitting next to them and seeing them operate the lights in front of the largest crowd my company has ever illuminated was incredibly special,” Glen reflects.

Keeping Calm When Things Don’t Go as Planned

Challenges are inevitable, but Glen emphasizes the importance of staying composed. “The most important thing is to remain calm, and my team and I always have a Plan B,” he says. His steady approach ensures that every event, big or small, goes off without a hitch.

Inspiration and Influence

Larry Alspaugh of Sterling Productions played a pivotal role in shaping Glen’s career, recognizing his talent as a lightboard jockey and giving him his first professional job. Glen also credits his wife and best friend, Karen, for inspiring him to believe in himself and his abilities. And for a soundtrack to his life? Madonna’s Ray of Light is a fitting choice for someone who has dedicated their career to illuminating life’s most joyful moments.

Fond Memories and Looking Ahead

From NYE block parties in 1999 and 2000, complete with homemade confetti cannons, to large-scale wedding events, Glen’s career has been filled with moments of creativity, joy, and light. “It’s about creating experiences that people remember,” Glen says simply. And with Rays of Light, he continues to do just that—turning events into dazzling, unforgettable celebrations.
