Michelle and Julio Besu, the creative couple behind Wild Coast Flower Preservation, embarked on their journey into the wedding and event business during an unexpected period—the 2020 pandemic. As many businesses faced uncertainty, Michelle saw an opportunity to create something meaningful and lasting. "What started as Wild Coast Flower Preservation has grown into a passion for preserving life's most precious moments," she shared.

A Unique Attraction to the Industry
What truly drew Michelle to the wedding industry was the chance to transform fleeting moments into lasting memories. "There's something magical about taking a bride's wedding bouquet—flowers that represent one of the most important days of her life—and turning them into functional pieces of art that she can cherish forever," she explained. The joy on their clients' faces when they see their preserved flowers transformed into custom trays, jewelry boxes, or wall art is, according to Michelle, "absolutely priceless."

Celebratory Events and Memorable Experiences
When it comes to the types of events they enjoy, the Besus have a soft spot for any celebratory occasion. Among their many projects, one event stands out prominently. "We not only have preserved wedding flowers, but we have done multiple corporate branded preservations. One that stands out the most is where we completed 75 trays for Crown Royal Peach in under 1.5 months," Julio recounted, highlighting the scale and intensity of that particular project.

Career Highlights and Challenges
A significant career highlight for the couple has been the growth of their business, which not only supports them but also employs 13 neighbors. "Growing this business to employ my husband and I, as well as 13 neighbors, makes me incredibly proud," Michelle stated. However, the journey has not been without its challenges. Michelle reflected on a time when an event did not go as planned. "Yes, we have had issues with resin pieces breaking in the mail, but our expertise in this field has helped us figure ways of fixing customer pieces to pre-loss condition without the customer losing their sentimental flowers," she explained, showcasing their commitment to customer satisfaction and quality.

About Michelle and Julio: Nature Enthusiasts at Heart
Beyond their business, Michelle and Julio are nature enthusiasts. "Some of my happiest moments are spent outdoors with my family, whether we're camping under the stars or feeling the ocean breeze on our boat," Michelle shared. She emphasized the importance of disconnecting from the world to connect with what truly matters—family and nature. The inspiration for Wild Coast Flower Preservation stems from their family adventures. "During our camping trips, we'd discover beautiful wildflowers, and I started pressing and preserving them as a way to keep those memories alive," Michelle recalled. What began as a passion project has evolved into a thriving business that combines her love for nature with artistic expression. "Using resin to preserve these delicate flowers turned into something bigger than I could have imagined," she concluded. Through Wild Coast Flower Preservation, Michelle and Julio continue to transform cherished memories into timeless pieces of art, celebrating the beauty of nature and the joy of life's special moments.
